Dr KC starts 18th hunger strike

KATHMANDU, June 2: Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has started his 18th hunger strike at Khalanga, the headquarters of Darchula, putting forward a three-point demand.

KATHMANDU, June 2: Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has started his 18th hunger strike at Khalanga, the headquarters of Darchula, putting forward a three-point demand.


Issuing a press statement, Dr KC said that he started the fast-unto-death today at the district headquarters of Darchula.

As per the statement, Dr KC has demanded proper transportation service, quality health and education, and employment opportunities for people in the border region.


Dr KC has also demanded that the government start the process to retrieve that land encroached upon by India.


Likewise, he has also demanded that the government start working on establishing medical colleges in Gandaki Province, Dadeldhura, Udayapur, and Illam, among others.


Also, he has demanded that Geta Medical College be started at the earliest, and MBBS classes be started at Karnali and Rapti academies of health sciences.
