‘Draft of Civil Code was prepared by Deuba-led govt’

ILAM, Sept 27: Deputy Parliamentary Party leader of Communist Party of Nepal Subash Chandra Nembang has accused the Nepali Congress (NC) of protesting its own decisions taken in the past. “The draft of the Civil Code was prepared by the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government. The NC is protesting the same document. This is surprising,” Nembang told the journalists and party cadres in Ilam district headquarters this morning.

ILAM, Sept 27: Deputy Parliamentary Party leader of Communist Party of Nepal Subash Chandra Nembang has accused the Nepali Congress (NC) of protesting its own decisions taken in the past. “The draft of the Civil Code was prepared by the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government. The NC is protesting the same document. This is surprising,” Nembang told the journalists and party cadres in Ilam district headquarters this morning. 


Saying that the opponents are working to dissolve the government of the two-thirds majority, Nembang argued that the party should be made stronger and capable. Stating that all have abided by the Constitution of Nepal, Nembang shared that the politicians protesting this constitution also took oath as per the same constitution.

Likewise, Nembang said Mahantha Thakur of Rastriya Janata Party (RJP), who was against this constitution, administered oath of office and secrecy to the lawmakers of the House of Representatives and added that now all have accepted this constitution. 


The then Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Nembang also said that the constitution has ensured complete press freedom. RSS
