"We have seen indications that Nepal would meet the United Nations-set sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030," he said, insisting on the need of making the State mechanisms efficient to meet the target. As he said, Nepal's bureaucracy is archaic and he is working to make changes and reforms to it. He took the time to say that laws and bills presently drawing larger public concerns would be amended on the basis of necessity and meaning if any weaknesses were traced. He further underlined the need of making BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation) more effective. "Our role regarding BIMSTEC will not be just ritualistic, but we ensure the effective presence."

He called on the editors present to write whatever they see, whatever they feel, but be beware that their writings should not cause frustrations among the people. RSS
