DHADING, Oct 22: This morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale struck the Khari Village Development Committee of Dhading, leading to the destruction of 20 houses and causing damage to 75 additional houses in Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-5, Kumaltari.

Former ward chairman Krishna Prasad Kapri has reported that assessments of the earthquake's impact are still ongoing. In the wake of multiple aftershocks measuring over four on the Richter scale, people have chosen to stay outside their homes, as shared by local resident Rajesh Adhikari.


District Police Office Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Santulal Prasad Jaiswar stated that efforts to gather comprehensive information about the affected houses are in progress.
