NAWALPUR, July 8: The Narayangarh-Butwal section of the East-West Highway has been blocked due to the damage caused by continuous rainfall in the region.

According to Dilip Kumar Giri, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police of the district, the road section of Kawasoti Thana Chowk in Nawalparasi was blocked following a flood in the area.
The work to clear the obstructed highway is currently underway, Giri said. Preparations are being made to construct a diversion to allow the passing of small vehicles as heavy and large vehicles are asked to stop for a while, he said. The obstruction of the road section has caused a long line of vehicles on the East-West Highway, he added.
