DHANGADHI, Feb 24: An inspiring performance from national women’s team captain Rubina Chhetri helped Eastern Region secure a semifinal place as it registered a 98-run win over Mid-western Region in the ongoing Prime Minister Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament on Friday. The last four lineup has been completed as Central Region beat Far-western Region by 12 runs on the same day.
Group A topper Central will now take on the runner-up of group B Eastern, while group B winner Armed Police Force (APF) will face the runner-up of group A Far-western on Saturday at the Fapla Cricket Ground.

In the first match, Eastern, who won the toss and elected to bat first, gave a target of 135 runs in the allotted 20 overs in the loss of five wickets. Mid-western, in reply, was all out in 19 overs managing to make just 36 runs. Chhetri was named the man-of-the-match.
In the second match on the same day, Central, who won the toss and opted to bat first, collected 105 runs in the allotted 20 overs in the loss of seven wickets. In reply, Far-western made 93 runs in the allotted 20 overs in the loss of three wickets.
