KATHMANDU, Feb 16: The Election Commission (EC) has directed the political parties to inform the election body if they have made any changes and amendments to their names, statutes, rules, stamps, flags and symbols as well as changes in their office-bearers, within the next 30 days.

The EC has asked the political parties to submit the details in the stipulated format in accordance with Section 51 of the Political Parties Act, 2073.

According to EC, the political parties have been directed to submit the details in order to discourage the trend of not providing information about the changes made in the parties for a long time.

It mentions that the distribution of party membership, election, nomination and appointment of office-bearers and members including central committee should be as per the Political Parties Act, 2073.

Similarly, the EC urged the political parties to make arrangements for their financial transactions through banks, keeping the accounting record in the specified format.
