EC commences voters’ list updating program

KATHMANDU, August 29: The Election Commission (EC) has launched a voters’ list updating program for the November 20 House of Representatives and provincial assembly elections.

KATHMANDU, August 29: The Election Commission (EC) has launched a voters’ list updating program for the November 20 House of Representatives and provincial assembly elections. 


On August 28, the EC published collected details of voters at the ward level. Thereafter, the designated official to register voters list will allocate time to make claims and objections over the electoral roll. Under this, things like correction of errors in details on the electoral roll, removal of names from the voters’ list, change of address and polling stations and removal of duplicate names will take place.

The voters will be given time for a clarification when a complaint about fake details has been filed. 


The authorities concerned have been asked to complete the campaign and send the details to the EC within September 9. 


The EC is scheduled to approve and publish the final electoral roll on its website on September 16.
