EC completes printing of 40 percent ballot papers

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: The Election Commission (EC) has completed the printing of 40 percent of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system under the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies (PA).

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: The Election Commission (EC) has completed the printing of 40 percent of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system under the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies (PA). 


Towards the proportional and FPTP electoral systems, around 70 percent of the total required ballots have been printed. Now, the shipment of PR ballot papers goes on.

According to EC's Assistant Spokesperson Kamal Bhattarai, the printing of 1,067,500 ballot papers for election under the FPTP system has been completed. Of the readied ballots, 8,700,000 are for the HoR elections and 8,057,000 ballot papers are meant for the PA elections.


Around 40,000,000 ballot papers for the PR electoral system have been already printed. 


For the PR system, ballot papers have been already transported to 68 districts. 


The number of total voters for the twin elections is 17,985,070 and one voter is required to vote on four ballot papers for the twin elections under the both systems. Around 80,000,000 ballot papers are required for the voting of twin elections taking place on November 20 in a single phase.
