EC completes printing of 27 percent of ballot papers for direct election

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The Election Commission has said it has completed the printing of 27 percent of ballot papers for the First-Past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system under the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Province Assembly.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The Election Commission has said it has completed the printing of 27 percent of ballot papers for the First-Past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system under the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Province Assembly. 


The voting for the elections is taking place on November 20 in a single phase.

Of the printed 10,037,000 ballots, 5,013,000 ballot papers are for the HoR elections and 5,024,000 are for the province assembly elections. 


Around 40,000,000 ballot papers are required for the elections of both levels. The printing of ballot paper is being carried out at the Sanothimi-based Janak Education Materials Center amidst high security arrangements, according to EC officials.
