EC decides to allow any official ID to cast vote in case voter’s ID is missing

KATHMANDU, May 12: Voters enlisted in the voter list for the local level election, 2079 BS, will be able to cast their vote on the basis of voter identity card or any other original government identity documents.

KATHMANDU, May 12: Voters enlisted in the voter list for the local level election, 2079 BS, will be able to cast their vote on the basis of voter identity card or any other original government identity documents.

The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday decided to allow voters to cast their vote in the May 13 local level election with the help of any official identity card including citizenship certificates, passports, national identity cards or land ownership certificates. However, the name of the voters concerned must be included in the voters’ list to be able to cast their votes.
