EC to do everything possible to make elections free and fearless: Sharma

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Election Commissioner Ila Sharma has expressed commitment that the Election Commission would not leave no stone unturned to hold elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies in free and fearless manner.

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Election Commissioner Ila Sharma has expressed commitment that the Election Commission would not leave no stone unturned to hold elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies in free and fearless manner. 


Inaugurating a training on election operation and management here today, Election Commissioner Sharma urged political parties and its candidates to follow the election code of conduct.

Similarly, another Commissioner Narendra Dahal said that all should have cooperative role to increase participation of voters as well to ease election management. 


Chairperson of Administrative Court and constitution expert Kashiraj Dahal suggested the EC to take action against those violating the election code of conduct while secretary of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Kamalshali Ghimire, stressed on the effective implementation of laws to make the elections free and fearless. 


Secretaries and joint-secretaries of the government of Nepal are participating in the training.
