As per the election schedule, date had been fixed for public who wanted to file complaints against the candidates on October 22.

Similarly, candidates who want to withdraw their nominations can do so on October 25. The EC will provide poll symbols and publish the final list of the candidates tomorrow.

For fighting in the election to the provincial assembly, one has to submit evidence of being enlisted in the voter list of the rural municipality or municipality of the same province. Anyone who is in the closed list of the PR system of elections cannot become a candidate in the FPTP system and also cannot nominate any candidate.

A new provision this time is that one can file candidacy from only one electoral constituency. Anyone violating the rule will have all his/her candidacies annulled.

According to EC, a total of 807 candidates including 323 for the House of Representatives and 484 for State Assemblies have filed their candidacies. The final list of the candidates would be published on October 25 and election symbol provided to them after this.

The second-phase of elections to House of Representatives and State Assemblies is taking place in 45 districts of Tarai-Madhes area on December 7. Filing of nomination of the candidates for second-phase of election is scheduled on November 2.
