KATHMANDU, July 22: Expressing solidarity to the ongoing fast-unto-death protest of Dr Govinda KC, over a dozen editors of mainstream media in the country have appealed the government to address his demands without any further delay.

Issuing a joint press statement after a meeting on Sunday, as many as 14 editors of mainstream dailies, news magazines, online news portals and televisions have expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition owing to prolonging protests of Dr KC, who has been championing for the cause of bringing reform in Nepal's medical education sector.

The editors have said that Dr KC was forced to continue his protest for the 15th time as major political parties failed to implement the agreements they reached with him for 14 different occasions in the past. “As a result, the repeated hunger strikes and his prolonging protest have put the life itself of Dr KC in danger,” said the joint statement.
