Applications of individuals involved in intellectual theft will be terminated
KATHMANDU, April 3: The appointment process commenced five months after the member post of Tribhuvan University (TU) Service Commission became vacant. This time, specific criteria have been established for appointing new members.

Keshab Dahal, Spokesperson and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, mentioned that a committee formed under the chairmanship of the Education Minister in accordance with Section 15 (2) of the Tribhuvan University Act, 2049, has formulated a procedure for recommending members of the Service Commission. The procedure entails holding an open competition to fill the vacant posts, for which open applications have been invited.
According to the prescribed standards, individuals accused of intellectual theft will be barred from applying. "Since the university operates within the academic sphere, the ministry's objective is to appoint members who are pure experts and have not faced allegations of intellectual theft," stated spokesperson Dahal.
According to the criteria, applicants must hold the rank of professor with a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in higher education, along with at least 2 years of managerial responsibilities in a higher educational institution. They should also have no conflict of interest with the university and should not be affiliated with any political party.
Applicants are required to include copies of their academic qualification certificates and appointment letters to the professorial post, details of published articles in recognized journals as part of scholarly research, and the web link of the published articles on NepJOL (Nepal Journals Online), if published in an equivalent recognized reviewed journal. Additionally, evidence of a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience at a higher educational institution should be provided.
Furthermore, applicants must submit a vision paper of 3000 words, outlining future strategies related to the impartiality, neutrality, quality, and enhancement of the Service Commission's competence in establishing a center of academic excellence at the university. Details of experience in presenting research-based papers at international conferences and a copy of Nepali citizenship are also required to be included in the application criteria.
