KATHMANDU, August 28: Lawmakers have laid emphasis on formulating stringent laws along with their effective enforcement to end all types of violence against women.
At a national workshop 'Constitutional and Legal Rights of Nepali Women' organized by the National Women Commission here today, lawmaker Rita Rawal said that the bodies concerned should take the issue seriously at a time when the rape cases are increasing at different places of the country.

Similarly, lawmaker Urmila Devi Shah said that equal participation of women at every body of the state should be brought into practice and the state should provide opportunity of education, health and employment to women.
Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Leela Devi Gadtaula, said that public awareness should be spread along with effective implementation of laws to end VAW.
Likewise, Acting Chairperson of the NWC, Bhagawati Ghimire said that positive pressure should be exerted collectively for women's rights guaranteed in the constitution. RSS
