Ex-king hospitalized for treatment of heart ailment

KATHMANDU, July 19: Ex-king Gyanendra Shah has been admitted to Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment of his heart ailment.

KATHMANDU, July 19: Ex-king Gyanendra Shah has been admitted to Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment of his heart ailment.


A team led by Dr Yadav Dev Bhatta has started the angioplasty procedure in the Hospital at Thapathali. The doctors had decided to conduct angioplasty procedure for Shah's treatment after medical report showed a block in a valve of his heart during the angiography.

Former King, who celebrated his 70th birthday on July 7, had consulted doctors at Norvic after suffering from heart problem. According to a source at the hospital, former king might have to spend some days in the hospital.


The ex-king is undergoing through the treatment process in a hospital in the country while republican leaders have been flying abroad for general treatment spending money from state coffer.
