GORKHA, Sept 18: The counterfeit currency notes of Rs 1000 denomination have been found in various shops in Gorkha's district headquarters-Gorkha Bazaar.
The shopkeepers here shared that the customers have been cheating them with the fake currency notes while purchasing goods from their shops.
Two involved in printing fake currency notes held
Shopkeeper Prakash Roka of Gorkha Municipality-7 said, "The fake currency notes of RS 1000 have been doing rounds in the market lately."
According to him, the fake currencies do not have rhododendron image in the white section of the notes and on the security thread with Nepal Rastra Bank written in it as in the original ones.
Such fake currency notes were first found in Om Shankar Store in Naya Bazar on Sunday.
The District Administration Office, Gorkha has urged the public to be aware of the fake currency notes and do transactions carefully.
Police have started investigation into the case and are searching for those trading in fake currency notes.
