Two arrested while trying to enter Nepal from India with fake Indian currency

KATHMANDU, April 30: Parsa District Police has arrested two individuals with counterfeit notes. The arrested have been identified as Kyamudin Miya, 30, of Betiya Bhawal Panchayat-4,West Champaran, India, and Halima Khatun, 40, of Prasauni Rural Municipality-2, Bara, Nepal.

KATHMANDU, April 30: Parsa District Police has arrested two individuals with counterfeit notes. The arrested have been identified as Kyamudin Miya, 30, of Betiya Bhawal Panchayat-4,West Champaran, India, and Halima Khatun, 40, of Prasauni Rural Municipality-2, Bara, Nepal.


The arrests were made near Ghantaghar, Birgunj-9, where the police from Ward Police Office, Birta, intercepted them. A total of 123 units of fake currency notes of Rs 1,000 denomination were seized during the check.

The police personnel stationed from the Ward Police Office, Birta, arrested them as they were entering Nepal from India after the fake Indian currency was recovered during the check.


The police said that they are currently conducting further investigation into the matter.
