JANAKPURDHAM, Nov 2: The family of Rupesh Saraf, who was shot dead last Monday in Kalaiya in Bara, has complained that the police lied about the case of slain Rupesh.

Following a press conference held by Bara police on Wednesday, where they publicized five individuals involved in Rupesh's murder, brothers of deceased Rupesh organized a press conference denying the claim. This has raised questions about the integrity of the police's investigation.

Bara Superintendent of Police Suresh Kafle had stated that Rupesh was killed due to his alleged romantic affairs with a girl. However, Subodh Saraf, the brother of the late Rupesh, released a statement contradicting the police's claim. He said that the police's narrative about his brother's murder being linked to a love affair was false.

Subodh claimed that Rupesh had no romantic relationship with Radha Gupta, a person identified by the police as the mastermind behind the murder.

He said that the police had misrepresented Rupesh's character. Subodh expressed his dissatisfaction with the police investigation, mentioning that there was no basis to point to his brother's character or his family's reputation in connection with the case. He claimed that such actions were obstructing the progress of the investigation.

Subodh added none of the four individuals responsible for Rupesh's shooting had been arrested, raising suspicions of an attempted cover-up by the police.

Subodh, who is also the Managing Director of Bal Ekta Secondary School, said that two of the youths arrested by the police were innocent and police framed them on false charges. He said, “Two staff members of my school are innocent. The statement obtained by torturing them is wrong.”

Subodh said that Radha Gupta, a 22-year-old resident of Kalaiya 6, who the police had identified as the primary mastermind behind the murder, had been expelled from the school seven months ago due to her inappropriate conduct while working as an accountant. He said that she had no association with Rupesh during this time.

The grievances expressed by the deceased's family have raised doubts about the integrity of the murder investigation.
