Fares of domestic flights to go up by up to Rs 445 per travel from Wednesday

KATHMANDU, May 23: Airline companies have hiked their airfares by up to Rs 445 per travel, to be effective from Wednesday, citing the recent hike in fuel prices.

KATHMANDU, May 23: Airline companies have hiked their airfares by up to Rs 445 per travel, to be effective from Wednesday, citing the recent hike in fuel prices. 


According to the Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), the airline companies are compelled to increase their flight charges to compensate for the increased price of fuel. On Sunday, Nepal Oil Corporation hiked the aviation fuel (domestic) by Rs 10 per liter.

In the revised rate, the cost of mountain flight has increased by Rs 340 to Rs 13,765 per flight. Similarly, the airfare of Kathmandu-Bhadrapur flight will increase by Rs 300 to Rs 11,935, according to AOAN.  


A Kathmandu-Biratnagar flight ticket now costs Rs 9,325 per travel while those of Kathmandu-Janakpur and Kathmandu-Pokhara have been increased to Rs 5,250 and Rs 6,305, respectively. The new rate for Kathmandu-Bhairahawa flight has been fixed at Rs 7,880, Kathmandu-Nepalgunj at Rs 12,895 and Kathmandu-Dhangadhi at Rs 15,665.
