KATHMANDU, April 18: The fee for American citizens to obtain a study visa to Nepal has been reduced by $200.
According to the Department of Immigration, when Nepal issues study visas to US citizens holding US passports, only US $160 will be charged. Earlier, it was $360. The decision of the Council of Ministers on March 14 made such a decision. The reduced fee has been implemented from April 14.

According to the information officer of the department, Kamal Prasad Pandey, this decision was made on the basis of mutuality between the two countries. A year ago, the US government reduced the visa fee for students going to study in that country to $160. That rule has also been applied to Nepali students. Therefore, on the basis of reciprocity, Nepal has also fixed the fee for a five-year multiple visa (study) at only $160.
