In the program, Bikrant Karki, Founder of Robotics Academy of Nepal and Nibesh Kiran Adhikari of Idea Breed Technology jointly made a demonstration of Cinema Cyber Security Desk. These two IT companies will work on system development for the desk.
Chairman of the Board Bhuwan KC said that 'Cinema Cyber Security' has been created to avoid the cyber attacks that the Nepali film industry is facing. “The development of technology has brought significant changes in our lifestyle. This has both positive and negative sides. Social networking sites like TikTok, YouTube and Facebook have made it easy for Nepali filmmakers to showcase their work and reach a wider audience. However, this has also created new challenges in terms of cyber security. To address these challenges, the Film Development Board has decided to take proactive steps by adopting a policy to establish a dedicated desk related to 'Cinema Cyber Security,” said KC.
Naval Khadka, President of Nepal Film Producers Association, insisted that the board should implement the cyber security desk immediately. The Board has already submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for the budget allocation in the next financial year regarding the operation of the cinema cyber security desk.
