Final hearing on case against former speaker Mahara underway at Kathmandu District Court

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Kathmandu District Court is conducting the final hearing on a case against former speaker of House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara today.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Kathmandu District Court is conducting the final hearing on a case against former speaker of House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara today.


The hearing is currently underway in a single bench of judge Amar Raj Poudel. Lawyers are now defending Mahara during the hearing.

According to Ananda Shrestha, the registrar at the district court, the court will issue final verdict today itself if the hearing is concluded this afternoon.


Mahara has been accused of raping a woman employee at the Parliament secretariat. He was taken into custody for further investigation.
