BAITADI, Feb 19: The final rites of Bhagarathi Bhatta, who was murdered after rape, were performed in Baitadi on Friday.
Bhatta's final rites were performed at Mahakali Aryaghat at Dasharathchand Municipality-6 today, according to Shivraj Bhatta, Bhagarathi's uncle.

Family members, relatives, well-wishers, people's representatives and representatives of political parties were among those who attended the funeral procession.
Earlier today, relatives and family members of Bhatta, 17, of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-7 of Baitadi district received her body. They received the body of Bhagarathi 17 days after her body was found.
Initially, relatives of Bhagarathi had refused to receive the body, demanding that those involved in the rape and murder be brought to justice.
Bhagarathi was murdered on February 2. Police on Wednesday made public Dinesh Bhatta, a local of Chadepani, confirming his involvement in the murder.
Dinesh on Wednesday in the presence of his father confessed that he had raped and murdered Bhagarathi. After confession of Dinesh, relatives of Bhagarathi received the body today.
