Magar's final rites performed

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The last rites of one-time world's shortest man Khagendra Thapa Magar, were performed on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The last rites of one-time world's shortest man Khagendra Thapa Magar, were performed on Saturday. 


Magar died at the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital on Friday due to pneumonia.

Magar, measuring 67.08 cm was recognized as the shortest man of the world by the Guinness World Records in 2010. 


But, he lost the title as Junrey Balawing of the Philippines, measuring 59.9 centimeters was named the world's shortest man in 2012. 


Magar's uncle Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar lit his funeral pyre. Magar, who was declared as the world's shortest man on October 14, 2010, weighed only six kilograms.
