Mcube Gallery, Patan, is currently showcasing ‘Finding the roots’. The exhibition, which started on August 31, features artists Erina Tamarakar, and Sushman Shakya from Nepal, along with artist duo Yichin Lin and YiLun Lu, and researcher Soma Liang from Taiwan.
According to the press statement released by Mcube Gallery, the exhibition has four different subtitles and features sculptures, photographies, and prints, and installations. The highlights of the display include Tamrakar’s metal sculptures and an audio-video installation which signifies the ideas of womanhood. According to Tamrakar, her artwork represented her family’s metal crafts inspired heritage. Likewise, Shakya’s bell installations made up of scrap materials, like tin and keys, and her five set of prints representing five elements — water, air, fire, earth, and sky — is equally fascinating.
