KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Property worth around Rs 50 million was reduced to ashes after a fire broke out at a furniture showroom near UN park in Buddhanagar in the capital on Monday.

According to DSP Hobindra Bogati, spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Range Office, the fire has now been contained by Nepal Police, Nepal Army, and Armed Police Force. As many as nine fire engines and 20 water tankers were used to douse the fire.


The police said they are investing how the fire started. According to the furniture owner, it was caused by short-circuit.
