Fire destroys house is in Udayapur

Udayapur, Dec 13: A fire that broke out on Monday afternoon destroyed a house in Udayapur. According to the preliminary investigation of the police, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

Udayapur, Dec 13: A fire that broke out on Monday afternoon destroyed a house in Udayapur. According to the preliminary investigation of the police,  the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.


The local police confirmed that Anita Devi Sah's house in Triyuga Municipality-12 Sadhana Tol was burnt down on Monday afternoon. The fire started at 3:00 PM.

According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the single-storey house with roof made up of wood and tiles caught fire due to an electrical short circuit. The house and all the belongings inside the house, including dishes, clothes, food, were completely burnt down. The initial estimate of the police is that the fire caused a loss of approximately Rs 300,000.


Spokesperson of the District Police Office Rakesh Poddar said that no human casualty has been reported so far.


He said that the fire was brought under control within 40 minutes with the help of Triyuga Municipality's fire department, police team and the locals.
