ILAM, Sept 3: Property worth around Rs 20 million was gutted in a fire that took place at Ranke Bazaar along the border of Ilam and Jhapa last night.
The loss incurred when the inferno engulfed the house with three shutters belonging to Thaluram Shrestha of Deumai municipality-1.
A fire engine from Phidim municipality of Panchthar was used to bring the fire under control. The fire was brought under control at 11.00 am today. Locals and security personnel had also joined hands to douse the fire.

It was shared that the shoes store and cosmetic shop of Shree Bahadur Bista and food and grocery store of Til Bikram Basnet were completely destroyed in the fire.
Locals also informed that two LP gas cylinder were also exploded in the fire incident.
Police shared that the details of fire-triggered loss have yet to be ascertained and no human casualty was reported in the incident.
The Bazaar adjacent to Mechi Highway also witnessed fire two years ago causing damages to some houses.
