Five arrested for killing wild cats

RAUTAHAT, Feb 10: Police have arrested five youths on the charge of killing seven wild cats near Jangal Sahiyar in Gujra Municipality of Rautahat.

RAUTAHAT, Feb 10: Police have arrested five youths on the charge of killing seven wild cats near Jangal Sahiyar in Gujra Municipality of Rautahat.


A team of youths carrying a red bag was walking on the road of Jangalsaiya Chowk in a suspicious condition at around 6PM on Wednesday. When the police team of Area Police Office, Bijaypur Laxminiya, checked the bag, they found the bodies of seven wild cats.

Among the arrested are Sanjay Barai, 35, Pappu Barai, 18, Akshay Barai, 18, Sunil Barai, 18, and Neeraj Barai, 18, of Mahagadhimai Municipality, Bara. The arrested have been handed over to the Jangalsahiya Sub-Divisional Forest Office by the Area Police Office, Vijaypur Laxminiya.


Amardev Yadav, head of the Division Forest Office, Rautahat, said that action has been taken against the arrested under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act and the five arrested persons have been kept in custody.
