Five honored with HYATT WOW Women Achievers Award 2019

KATHMANDU, March 6: The Hyatt Regency Kathmandu and Media 9 Private Limited jointly honored five women with the Hyatt WOW Women Achievers Awards 2019, on Tuesday, amidst a program in the capital.

KATHMANDU, March 6: The Hyatt Regency Kathmandu and Media 9 Private Limited jointly honored five women with the Hyatt WOW Women Achievers Awards 2019, on Tuesday, amidst a program in the capital. The awards were distributed in line with the International Women's Day campaign theme "Think equal, build smart, innovate for change."


Women from five categories were honored at the event, which saw the participation of a distinguished panel that helped select the honorees. At the event, awards were presented by Anuradha Koirala, founder and director of Maiti Nepal to Sajal Pradhan in the entrepreneurship category, Akanchha Karki in arts, Sita Adhikari in leadership, Padma Khayargoli in social service and activism and Uma Devi Badi for being the inspiring woman of the year.

Among the honorees, Sajal Pradhan is an environmentalist, Akanchha Karki is a theater practitioner, Sita Adhikari is a women leader, Padma Khayargoli is a self defense trainer, and Uma Devi Badi is an activist of the Badi community.


The event was supported by Nabil Bank Limited, Ncell Private Limited, Dabur Real Fruit Power, Sanima Bank, Siddhartha Insurance Limited and Turkish Airlines. The event also included a panel discussion where discussion was held on traditional masculinity and its effects on gender equality. This was the third edition of The WOW Women Achievers Award.
