Nepali youth awarded in Delhi

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: A Nepali youth Mohd Irfan of Banke district was honored with the prestigious 'National Youth Icon Award 2019' amid a special ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: A Nepali youth Mohd Irfan of Banke district was honored with the prestigious 'National Youth Icon Award 2019' amid a special ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Friday. 


Irfan was awarded by the International Youth Committee (IYC) of India for his excellent contribution to the field of development, according to the organizer. IYC Chairman Jayanta Patra presented the award at the Constitution Club of India, Delhi.

A social and political activist based in Banke, Mohd Irfan has been participating in several national and international conferences and has even bagged a number of prestigious awards too. Most recently, he was recognized as a Global Youth Peace Ambassador in the Maldives by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Development of Maldives. 


He started his career with USAID in the remote area of Jumla district. He has been since working on various social issues and development.
