Five injured when mayor-driven dozer meets with accident

POKHARA, June 15: Five persons including two journalists were injured when Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC on Friday drove a dozer to lay a foundation stone for the construction of a foot-trail along the bank of Firke Khola.

POKHARA, June 15: Five persons including two journalists were injured when Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC on Friday drove a dozer to lay a foundation stone for the construction of a foot-trail along the bank of Firke Khola.


Mayor GC had himself kicked off the construction of the foot-trail by driving the dozer himself. Locals including journalists who were standby to take photographs fell into the river when GC drover the dozer.

Five people including two journalists who were leaning against the railing of the Parshyang bride fell some 20 meters down into the river along with the railing after being struck by the dozer driven by the mayor.


The injured journalists are Ranja Adhikari and Sandehs Shreshtah. Similarly, Gauri Paudel, a local, also sustained injuries.
