Five persons critically injured in Doti bus accident

KATHMANDU, May 21: As many as 12 people were injured after a passenger bus met with  an accident in Doti district earlier today. According to Chief of Area Police Office, Dipayal, Rupa Singh, efforts are being made to transport five of the critically injured to another district for treatment.

KATHMANDU, May 21: As many as 12 people were injured after a passenger bus met with  an accident in Doti district earlier today. According to Chief of Area Police Office, Dipayal, Rupa Singh, efforts are being made to transport five of the critically injured to another district for treatment. 


A child has also gone missing in the accident. The 18-month-old son of Surendra Shahi of Chaurpati Rural Municipality-6 of Achham has gone missing after the accident. Police personnel are carrying out a search for the child, according to police.

The bus (Na5Kha 9663) was traveling from Achham to Kailali before getting involved in an accident at around 5 AM in Shikhar Municipality-1. Other injured passengers are currently being treated at Saileswari Hospital. 


Preliminary police investigation showed that the accident might have taken place after the driver of the speeding bus fell asleep. The bus fell 20 meters off the road on the banks of the Seti River. The bus driver is absconding after the accident, police said.
