Flood survivors in Mahottari offered relief

MAHOTTARI, June 2: Survivors of the deadly flooding in Mahottari district last year have received relief assistance. 


The District Administration Office Mahottari, has provided Rs 25,000 each to 2,504 affected families almost one year after the disaster. In total, the Office spent 62.6 million in the distribution of relief assistance.

Of the given amount, Rs 15,000 was for the repairing of damaged shelters and Rs 10,000 was meant for purchasing clothes, according to Chief District Officer Baburam Shrestha. 


Nine people had lost their lives to the massive flooding in July last year while thousands of families were rendered homeless. The disaster caused huge losses to physical property as well. RSS
