FM Saud requests Qatari Minister to help secure release of Bipin Joshi from Hamas captivity

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Foreign Minister NP Saud has asked Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Mukhairi to take immediate initiatives for the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali who is currently under the control of Hamas.

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Foreign Minister NP Saud has asked Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Mukhairi to take immediate initiatives for the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali who is currently under the control of Hamas.


In a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, Minister Saud asked the Qatari minister to take initiatives for the release of Joshi from Hamas captivity.

Deepak Raj Joshi, chief private secretary of Minister Saud, said that there was a special request to release Joshi along with a group of 50 people who were said to be released by the Hamas.


In response, Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs assured to help Joshi's release as soon as possible. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Saud also praised the role played by the Qatari government as a mediator for the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of citizens held hostage by Hamas.


Earlier on Thursday, Minister Saud had called the ambassador of Israel to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the matter of Joshi's release.


During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest including employment, business and investment exchange, development of cooperation and high-level visits.
