FNCCI signs MoU with Province 1 govt

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the provincial government of Province 1 and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Biratnagar on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the provincial government of Province 1 and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Biratnagar on Tuesday. 


Under the MoU signed as part of Public Private Partnership Program, Agricultural Enterprise Center (AEC), a unit of FNCCI, will assist the provincial government in executing programs that help propel private sector development.

With the agreement, the FNCCI aims to support and guide the provincial government to implement various projects, and provide assistance in making plans and policies that will have positive impact on both the private and public sectors. 


According to the agreement, the AEC will develop and implement the guidelines and policies for programs to be launched as per the guidelines of Public 


Private Partnership Program 2075 BS. Furthermore, the agreement will create a mechanism for the provincial government to release quarterly budget to the AEC under the direction of Provincial Financial Ministry. 

On the other hand, the government will give necessary inputs and formulate working procedures, besides evaluating and inspecting the quality of project implementation.


Similarly, the AEC will create a working plan for programs that it will implement using the budget approved by Provincial Financial Ministry. 


The MoU was signed by Indra Bahadur Angbo, Minister of Financial Affairs and Planning of Province 1, and Bhawani Rana, President of FNCCI. Chief Minister of Province 1 Sher Dhan Rai was present on the occasion. 

Immediate Past President of FNCCI Chadi Raj Dhakal, Chief of FNCCI Province 1 Narendra Khadka, and Vice Chairman of AEC Hemraj Dhakal were also present on the occasion. The MoU will take effect immediately.
