FNJ Bhaktapur submits a collection of signatures for press freedom

BHAKTAPUR, June 21: Federation of Nepali Journalists, Bhaktapur submitted a collection of signatures expressing solidarity with its campaign. It launched to guarantee the right to freedom of expression and freedom of the press to the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur.

BHAKTAPUR, June 21: Federation of Nepali Journalists, Bhaktapur submitted a collection of signatures expressing solidarity with its campaign. It launched to guarantee the right to freedom of expression and freedom of the press to the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur.


A team from the FNJ chapter led by its chair Pushkar Raj Budathoki reached the DAO and handed the collection of signatures put on a banner to Assistant Chief District Officer, Dilip Kumar Lamichhane.

The submission was part of its third phase of a protest launched seeking the withdrawal of Media Council Bill registered in the parliament by the government.


The assistant CDO said the memorandum would be submitted to the Office of Prime Minister through the Home Ministry.


The signature collection campaign was launched on June 18 at Dudhpati, and the participation was of over 200 people including journalists, civil society leaders, and professionals, Budhathoki said.
