FNJ condemns attack against scribe

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said its attention was drawn seriously towards manhandling and taking under control of a journalist, Sudeep Bardewa, by the police at the Office of the Transport Management in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said its attention was drawn seriously towards manhandling and taking under control of a journalist, Sudeep Bardewa, by the police at the Office of the Transport Management in Lalitpur on Wednesday. 



Police manhandled and took under control Bardewa, affiliated to Radio Mirmire, in course of collecting news at the Transport Management Office. 



The FNJ has determined the attack as the attack against press and interference against freedom of expression. 



A press release issued by FNJ Secretary, Dhurba Lamsal, condemned the attack on journalist Bardewa and demanded the bodies concerned to ensure safety to journalists by taking action against the guilty. 



Bardewa was manhandled for visualizing the baton-charge by police on the people, who were on a line to acquire driving license. However, he was released after a while. RSS
