Foreign Minister Saud meets Indian counterpart in Dhaka

KATHMANDU, May 13: Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, had a meeting with External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S Jaishankar, in Dhaka on Friday.

KATHMANDU, May 13: Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, had a meeting with External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S Jaishankar, in Dhaka on Friday.


The meeting was held on the sidelines of Indian Ocean Conference, 2023, according to Nepali Embassy in Dhaka. The Embassy further stated that discussions were held on ways to consolidate cooperation in trade, transit, connectivity and people to people linkages.

Minister Saud had left here Friday for Dhaka to attend the sixth Indian Ocean Conference being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on May 12-13. He is scheduled to address the event tomorrow.


The Nepali delegation was received by Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghana Shyam Bhandari, and officials of Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry at Hajrat Shahajalal International Airport of Bangladesh.


On Friday itself, the Foreign Minister held a virtual meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart where they discussed issues ranging from trade, transit, energy, education, investment and people to people linkages.
