“The house is in a very dilapidated condition, it seems impossible to restore it. There is a plan to build a new house and turn it into a museum," said Baijnath Chaudhary, a member of the Tanka Prasad Acharya Memorial Foundation and former Minister for Finance and Cooperatives of Lumbini Province.

After the dilapidated house was further damaged by the earthquake in 2015, the locals were demanding its preservation. "The locals have been demanding to preserve the house since the last three decades," Chaudhary said.

Provincial Assembly Member Baijnath Jaiswal emphasized that the work should be carried forward in coordination with the Department of Archaeology. He mentioned that it is necessary to restore late Acharya's house and said that if necessary, he will take the initiative with the state government for an additional budget.

Late Acharya was born in 1913. He passed away in 1989. He became the prime minister of the country in 1956.
