RASUWA, August 13: The landslide that occurred in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-5 on Friday morning has severely affected four houses in the area while seven others have sustained minor damages. Also, two people have been injured by the natural disaster.
According to locals, the landslide had led big boulders to fall down, causing further damage to the settlements. Continuous rainfall in the region had led to soil erosion and landslides in the region causing severe damages to physical infrastructures.
Schools displaced by quake-induced landslide yet to resume
According to Devendra Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the district, the residents of the settlement have been relocated to an old building of the rural municipality due to the possible risk of landslides. “Other families have also been relocated to safer places. As many as 22 homes in the region were at risk from landslides at the start of the monsoon,” Pandey said.
