Four killed in two separate accidents

CHITWAN, Jan 8: Two persons died in a motorbike accident at Bharatpur Metropolis-10, Rijalchowk last night.


According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the accident took place when a motorbike (Na 48 Pa 3757) heading to the East-West Highway from Gautamchowk hit a pedestrian. Both motorcyclist and pedestrian died in the accident, police confirmed. 


The deceased have been identified as pedestrian Ramesh Bikram Thapa, 42, of Bharatpur Metropolis-10 and motorcyclist Yubaraj Thapa, 28, of Bharatpur-7.

Yubaraj breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital and Ramesh Bikram died in course of treatment at Chitwan Medical College. 


Meanwhile, two passengers died and other 26 were injured in a bus accident at Lungri Rural Municipality-7, Jutungkhola in Rolpa on Monday. 


The bus (Ga 1 Kha 5521) heading to Jutungkhola from Sulichaur of the district met with the accident. 

The deceased are bus driver Namaraj Ale of Swargadwari Municipality-5, Pyuthan and 11-month child Nitesh BK of Lungri Rural Municipality, confirmed the District Police Office. 


Fourteen among the injured are being treated at Kohalpur Medical College. Remaining others are undergoing treatment at Sulichaur Primary Health Post.
