Four women journalists scale Mt Everest

KATHMANDU, May 23: A Women Journalists Everest Expedition-2018 (FWJEE18) team has successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest today at 6 am on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, May 23: A Women Journalists Everest Expedition-2018 (FWJEE18) team has successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest at 6 am on Wednesday. 


Rojita Buddhacharya of Nepal Television, Kalpana Maharjan of Mega Television, Rosha Basnet of National News Agency (RSS) and Deuralee Chamling, a freelancer, reached the summit of Everest whereas Priya Laxmi Karki of News 24 could only make it to Camp 3 and got back due to her health issue.

The team comprising five young women journalists involved in different facets of journalisms in the country, went to climb the highest mountain in the world  Mt Everest (locally known as Sagarmatha) with the slogan ‘Unified Voice for Equity’ in May, 2018. 


The FWJEE 18 is climbing the world's tallest peak under the banner of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ).
