Fuel tanker catches fire at TIA

KATHMANDU, NOV 21: The equipment attached to a tanker used to refill planes caught fire at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The airport administration said that the fire was immediately brought under control.

The tanker caught fire while refueling an aircraft on Tuesday morning. An employee of the tanker informed Republica that the tanker caught fire due to the installation of low-quality equipment in the oil tanker.


General Manager of TIA, Premnath Thakur said that it was a normal fire and it was extinguished immediately. "There was a normal fire in the tanker, we extinguished it immediately," he told Republica. The Sinamangal center of Nepal Oil Corporation has been operating these tankers.
