KATHMANDU, JULY 11: Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) celebrated their anniversary for the first time on the occasion of completing fourteen years on Tuesday.
“We could not recall our anniversary date as we stepped into our 14th year” said FWEAN’s Acting President Sharda Rijal. She added, “Office staffs of the association discerned the date of our formation and hosted a ‘surprise’ program for existing board members and officials.”
FWEAN members will continue to celebrate their anniversary on same date, July 11, as proposed by the working staffs of the office.
The General Secretary of the Federation Shobha Gyawali stated FWEAN was established on July 11, 2003 as an umbrella organization for realizing the potential of women participation in society’s financial structure, earning and entrepreneurship.
“We tackled mountainous obstacles back in day to establish our federation as successful organization today,” mentioned Gyawali in the program as she remembered the early arduous days when it was strenuous for a woman to be an entrepreneur let alone start an organization in our society.
