Gandaki CM Pandey to appoint Devkota and Manange as ministers

KATHMANDU, June 11: Gandaki Province Chief Minister (CM) Surendra Raj Pandey will expand his Cabinet today, appointing Phanindra Devkota and Deepak Manange as ministers.

Devkota, from the Nepal Socialist Party, is set to be appointed as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Water Supply. Manange will be appointed as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 11 AM this morning.

Devkota supported CM Pandey in securing a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly, despite the CPN (Maoist Center) issuing a whip against it. The Maoist Center plans to take action against Devkota, but he argues he does not need to follow the whip as he represents a different party.
