Gandaki for paid tourism leave

KASKI, Aug 3: The Gandaki State Government has allocated funds for making the State Visit Year successful and also to develop a culture of vacation in the region.

KASKI, Aug 3: The Gandaki State Government has allocated funds for making the State Visit Year successful and also to develop a culture of vacation in the region.


Accordingly, the Ministry of Tourism has allocated Rs. 25,000 per employee of the State. According to Minister for Tourism Bikas Lamsal, the employees will be given a week-long leave along with cash for the paid vacation. The provision was made in the new fiscal year budget estimates.

It will also serve as refreshment for the employees, while also promoting tourism in the particular area, said Minister Lamsal. As per the policy, the employees can visit any location of the country and will have to submit photographs and visit report at the end of the vacation.


Of the total position for 2,200 employees in Gandaki state, 1,700 are presently in duty. The State had announced 2019 as the domestic visit year. The state government also has ambitious plans to bring in 2 million tourists by 2022.
