KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Nepal Police has stated that the general public has not been stopped from walking on the pavement during the passage of the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee's carcade.
Nepal Police spokesman, Deputy Inspector General Hemanta Malla made it clear that there was no curtailment in the movement of the general public in course of the Indian dignitary's motorcade.
"However, we cannot allow people to walk in the middle of the road when the carcade is passing. People have not been stopped from walking on the side and pavement of the road," he explained.
The talk that shops and shutters along the route where the visiting dignitary's motorcade would be going through would be asked to close down is also merely a rumor, DIGP Malla said. RSS
